For chambers, Main Street orgs and BIDs
GivePass turns visits to your local businesses into sponsor-funded money for local causes. Shoppers scan a printed sign and pick where it goes. There is no app to download, and nothing for a local business to install or remember.
Runs 8 to 16 weeks. Funded by one local sponsor. Free for your businesses, free for shoppers.

What a shopper does
01
Any of the eight to twelve local businesses taking part. Nothing has to be bought, and no receipt is scanned. A visit means somebody was at the counter.
02
A phone camera is all it takes. The scan counts on its own. The staff are not involved, and nobody signs up for anything.
03
The land trust, the food bank, the library. Visits release the sponsor's money to whichever cause got picked, and the pick can change any time.
What a local business does
That is the whole job. Their staff never have to remember anything: no app on the till, no daily code to read out, no discount to honor, no invoice to pay.
Every loyalty program that died in a small town died at the counter, because it asked a seventeen-year-old on a Saturday shift to do one extra thing. This one asks for nothing.
Business checklist
What a sponsor gets
One local business funds the season. In return their name sits on every sign in town, on the passport card each shopper carries, on the progress screen they check between visits, and on the screen where a cause gets claimed.
Those are real placements rather than a logo in a footer, and each one is counted daily. At close the sponsor gets a written credit for their own contribution: what their support generated, and what was paid to which causes.

The moment a cause gets the money
Every appearance is counted daily, so what the sponsor is shown at close is impressions that happened rather than a projection.
How the funding works
The sponsor commits a maximum and is never billed above it. Whatever is not released by the end of the season is not owed. GivePass never holds any of it. The sponsor pays the causes directly against a payout page we produce at close.

You set the milestones and the amounts. We refuse a season that promises more than the sponsor has actually funded, so the figures a shopper sees are always ones somebody is good for.
Where the money lands
Every visit to a local business releases money, and the shopper says where it goes. So each cause is paid exactly what its own supporters raised, down to the dollar. Causes are listed alphabetically, and every total only ever goes up.

Insights that matter
Not one aggregate number, but what each business got out of it, broken out by business, by cause and by week. The column that matters is first-time customers: people who had never scanned at that business before.
That is the column a renewal conversation turns on, and it is the one a discount app can never show you.
